Presented by: Aricha Drury

Children who experience stress or trauma may behave in ways that are unexpected or confusing to others. In this workshop, we’ll look at the impact of trauma and chronic stress on brain development and how this leads to behaviors child care providers may find challenging. We’ll talk about practical brain-based strategies to support children in building positive relationships, staying regulated, and identifying strategies to calm down when they are upset. Participants will be able to describe the impact stress and trauma have on brain development and identify strategies for supporting children whose experiences lead to challenging behavior.
